Patient Billing

We are a “cash-only” practice in that complete payment is expected at the time of service, although most of our patients have insurance. Dr. Baxley’s decision not to contract with insurance companies comes from his desire to spend more time with his patients and less time dealing with the interference and paperwork from health insurers. If you have questions about submitting your claims for reimbursement, please contact our Office Manager Konnie Cohrs at (407) 246-7001.

Hospital Privileges

Dr. Baxley uses the hospitalist system for his patients who need inpatient care. When a patient has to be admitted, Dr. Baxley has arrangements with inpatient physicians who care for his patients in the hospital. These doctors communicate with Dr. Baxley until the patient is discharged and then he or she returns to Dr. Baxley for follow up.

Prescription Refills

In order to provide quality care, medication refills are best addressed with Dr. Baxley at the time of your visit. Please allow up to 24 hours for other requests for prescription refills.

We can call in most prescription refills to a local pharmacy (please note that certain medications can not be refilled by phone) or have written prescriptions available for pick-up. It is helpful if you have the name and phone number of your preferred pharmacy at hand when you call our office. In addition, we can fax prescriptions to a mail-order pharmacy if we have the completed forms provided by your mail order pharmacy.

We make every effort, as you do, to refill medications before you run out, but please let us know if your request is urgent or if you are low on medication, in which case we will try to provide refills sooner.
